Pavillion A320N Desktop Hard Drive Dying - need help

[ Edited ]

I've got a Pavillion A320N with a 120GB Ultra DMA hard drive that is squealing and needs to be replaced.  I'm trying to find a compatible replacement drive.  It running an ASUS A7N8X-LA motherboard with an AMD Athalon XP 333 processor. Not sure if any EIDE drive will work or if there are certain things I need to avoid.  Is there a HD size limit for my system. I'm pretty sure I'm not SATA compatible.  Any help is appreciated.

Re: Pavillion A320N Desktop Hard Drive Dying - need help

I believe that the EIDE drive will work in your system.  However, you will not benefit from the enhancements.  If it were me, I would stick with a 120GB hard drive.  You know that it will work.  This is always the safest bet.

No, you do not have SATA capability.
