I have a key on my HP keyboard that says "prt Scr". I want to use this print screen function but pressing it with or without the shift key does not do anything. How in the wordl do I use the print screen function. Thank you

Normally this function is uses to copy the screen to the Clipboard. After that you can use Ctrl+V to paste the Clipboard to other applications such as Paint, Word ...

Welcome to the forums.
When you press the prtScr key, it "captures" the screen. Now, you have to open MS Office, or Word, or another suitable program in order to "paste" the "capture".
Please click Accept as Solution, if your problem is solved. To say THANK YOU, press the "thumbs up symbol" to render a KUDO. You can render both Solution and KUDO..

The keyboard Print Screen function (Prt Scr) is really a relic of the old DOS days. I would recommend a software solution (e.g., Greenshot) over cutting and pasting in Word. Greenshot (http://getgreenshot.org/) is free, open source and by all reports malware free.
