Hi bargainbin2,

I would try HP's boot time diagnostics to ensure your HDD is OK.

Please see "Running the Test from the Startup Screen".

Re: Restore Disk

What drive letter are you restoring to, and is the drive partitioned?

Got this one to respond a little and it says HDD not found. I take it the hard drive is locked up.

Thanks for your replys.

Hi bargainbin2,

Shut your PC down and disconnect from wall outlet, open side panel, and check data and power cable connections. Depress and hold down the power button to drain remaining power from your PC prior to removing the side panel.

Test HDD again. If it fails then you will need to replace the HDD.

Your PC shipped with a 1 TB HDD. You can replace with up to a 2 TB HDD.
