Swiping from edges on IQ 526t with Windows 8

HP Recommended

I have an IQ 526t with Windows 8.  So far, so good.  One problem is swiping from the left and right to switch tasks and activate the charms.  The edges of the touchscreens are hard to use.  Is there a solution for this?  Many thanks in advance.

I don't want to disable the charms bar or the task switcher.  I just want to be able to use touch to bring them up.

Hi,

Review this posted article on the Charms bar.

BTW -- the IQ 526t is not certified for Windows 8 so it's possible that certain swipping motions are not going to work with Windows 8.  There have been posts on the forum with some complaining about "touch" not working to his/her expectations.  Review this thread.

I know about that thread - I reported the problem in it.  Sometimes swiping from the side works and sometimes it does not.  Overall though, I'm quite happy with the IQ 526t with Windows 8.

Hi,

So why are you asking a question when you already know the answer?  Are you trying to make HP look bad?

Not at all.  I was hoping that some othe user may have figured out a fix for this issue. Obviously touch screens are better now than when the IQ came out but Windows 8 still makes it very useful.

I have an IQ 826t and this makes the touch work perfectly with Windows 8.  It's worth a try.

I installed that driver off the bat.  The touchscreen works ok - just not too well at the edges.  But thanks to all of those who have replied in this thread.
