Thin Client reinstallation

Hi all,

we have currently Thin Clients with Windows XP Embedded installed. Now we want to upgrade them to Windows Standard Embedded 7. The Clients are T5730 1GBF/1GB from the year 2009.

Should this work?

I can't test one because they are on an other location and are in use.

Re: Thin Client reinstallation

Sorry for the bad news.

A Thin Client is licensed for the operating system it was sold with.

A WES XP/2009 device is able because of Microsoft license to be able to be upgraded to WES7.

The t5730 has the added restriction of insufficient hardware. (Memory & Flash drive). The minimum required for WES7 is 2GB Memory and 4GB Flash.

The T5730 was never available with WES7. I doubt the CPU is good enough to run WES, and that is if you can get drivers for it.

Sorry for bad news and regards
