Over the past year, I have noticed that my TouchSmart 610 desktop will "sense" touches at the top-left of my screen. This happens even when I am not touching the screen at all. It seems to happen the most frequently when I am using Microsoft Word, which sometimes causes the program to attempt a save or undo my work because of where the shortcut icons are placed.
I have found that I can stop these phantom touches from happening by going into device manager and disabling HID-Compliant Touch Screen. This also disables my ability to control the desktop with touch. However, when I reset my computer, the phantom touches begin again, even though the HID-Compliant Touch Screen is disabled. Enabling and disabling it again appears to resolve it.
I have already attempted to clean the touchscreen surface as a solution. This didn't help.
1. Is there a way to prevent these phantom touches from happening?
2. If not, is there a way to set it so that the HID-Compliant Touch Screen solution I use stays in place even after a reset?
