USB 2.0 reverts to 1.0 on pc restart

Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

On pc startup, the usb port used for an asus u5 soundcard is loaded with a usb 1.0 driver.  When I uninstall the driver for that port and restart the pc, the port is loaded with a usb 2.0 port.  If I subsequently shut down the pc and restart it, that port is again loaded with a usb 1.0 driver.  How do I get all the usb devices loaded with usb 2.0 drivers?

Is the soundcard you are plugging in USB 2.0 compatible?

Yes; it is an Asus U5.  It works perfectly when the USB port is 2.0.  Thanks

Have you tried checking your chipset driver and BIOS version to see if there are updates available?
