Upgrading network card

[ Edited ]

Hi Forum,

Í have purchased a new network card from Intel AC 7260 in order to benefit from the new 802.11ac standard on my desktop computer.

After seemingly successfull installation, the computer now recognises 5 Ghz Band, but it looks like I still 'only' have 802.11n connection.

What can I be missing? I have read about 'HP whitelists', but...

Here are details of my setup:

  • Computer-name: HPE-030sc
  • Model-no: VS167AA
  • OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
  • Motherboard: MS-7613
  • Bios: Version 5.13 / 2010-04-06

New network card:

  • Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 + Bluetooth for Desktop (802.11b, 802.11g, 802.11a/b/g, 802.11a/b/g/n, and 802.11ac)
  • Driver: (2013-11-13)

Router: Netgear R7000 Nighthawk (IEEE® 802.11 b/g/n 2.4GHz + 256 QAM support

IEEE® 802.11 a/n/ac 5.0GHz)

Via Command-prompt commando "netsh" I get this information (Sorry, it´s in Danish).
