Pavilion 27-a071a
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I have a Pavilion 27-a071a All In One desktop. I use my laptop (Dell Latitude E7250) for my work.  When I work from home, I would like to use the larger display of the HP All In One while using the Dell laptop as the processing unit.

I have attempted to connect the two devices with an HDMI cable but neither detects the other one.  Can someone please advise how I can use the HP All In One as an extended display for my Dell Laptop?

Any help is much appreciated.

Best Regards,

Namit

Hi @NamitG

Welcome to the HP Forums!

Thank you for posting your query in this forum, it's a great place to find answers.

I reviewed your post and I understand that you want to use your all in one computer as an external display with your Dell laptop.

Don’t worry, we will work together to resolve this issue and It’s a pleasure to assist you in this regard.

I would like to inform you that you can only duplicate the screen of your laptop on the All in one computer only if there is HDMI in port available.

I checked the specifications of your All-in-one computer and do not see an HHDMI-in port so I believe it is not possible.

Hope that answers your question and you have a great day!

Thanks for the response.  That is a bit disappointing as I was told by the sales person that this can be done using an HDMI port.

Is there any other way of connecting the two devices?

Hi @NamitG

You can purchase an HDMI-out to HDMI-in adapter and check.

There are many such adapters available online.

Here is a picture of HDMI adapter.
