Does HP offer Nvidia 1070 video cards that will fit this case.  I purchased a Zoltac 1070 extreme card that fit for 12" lengh, 5" height and  2" width, but once I tried to install it bumped up against the clips for the memory and against the sata cable heads at the motherboard, so unable to seat the card.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi @Gartholameau

Welcome to the HP Forums!

It is a great way to engage, post questions and find resolutions by working with specialists in the HP community.

I reviewed your post and I understand that you want to know whether HP offers Nvidia 1070 video card.

I’d love to help!

I checked the specification of the Nvidia 1070 graphics card and see that it should fit in your tower. However, it requires a Supplementary Power Connectors (8-Pin).

HP doesn’t offer this video card and if you want to upgrade you can purchase it locally and install it on the computer.

HP Doesn't recommend any upgrade/downgrade of any hardware parts or software that is bundled with the product. It may affect the manufacturer's warranty and performance. You can change the configuration at your own risk.

Hope that answers your question and you have a good day ahead.

Thanks for your help.  The Card came with two supplementary power supply splitters.  The problem I had was with the card's clearance above the motherboard.  It was just low enough that the width was causing it to land on top of the memory card locks, on one side, and the sata plug heads on the other side.  I was hoping to know the names of 1070 video cards that would fit without these issues.  I don't want to order online and then have to pay the $60 reshelving fee just because the card has fitting problems.   The unfortunate thing is, any card online gives the dimensions for Height, Width and Length and nothing about clearance above motherboard objects.  I hope this carified the issue.  Thanks

Hi @Gartholameau

Thank you for posting back.

I will not be able to provide you the specific information you are looking for. As you have mentioned, no video card manufacturer provides the motherboard clearance information. Based on the specification what I see on Nvidia website, it looks like Nvidia 1070 video card should fit in the case.

Nvidia Graphics Card Dimensions:

Height: 4.376"

Length: 10.5"

Width: 2 Slot

The one which is which came preinstalled on your computer is NVIDIA GeForce 960

  • Form Factor: ATX (full height) PCB with ATX dual slot bracket

  • Dimensions: 17.5 cm x 11.2 cm (6.9 in x 4.4 in)

Based on these details, I provided you the details.

Hope this helps.

Take care!

Cheers!

Appreciate your help.  Although the dimensions on the Video card seem to be correct, there never is a way to be positive about the fit until it comes to install time.

Hi @Gartholameau

Thank you for posting back.

Yes, I completely agree with what you are saying.

I would suggest you take the computer directly to the computer store (best buy or staples) and check if the video card fits in the case and then you can purchase it.

Keep me posted and I hope you have a good day ahead.

Take care!

Cheers!

I ended up getting the Asus ROG 1070 Founders Edition 8gb video card.  It just fit, but is tight up againt the motherboard memory clips, so if I ever want to upgrade memory I need to pull the Video card first, otherwise it works well and has added a very worthwhile upgrade to this PC.  Hope this helps anyone else.
