Video Card upgrade

Operating System: Windows 7

AMD Anthlon 2 630 Quad -Core processor 

ATI Radeon HD 4200 integrated graphics

4gb ddr3 memory

750gb hard drive

windows 7 home prem 64-bit

 

Basically i want to upgrade the graphics so I can play games like battlefield 3. I only have 100 to spend atm. any recommendations on what I could go for? how big of a power supply would i need for said recommendation? I do not have an income atm so my budget is small

Warhound, welcome to the forum.

 

The first thing that you will have to do is upgrade the power supply unit (PSU).  The current PSU is only 250W.  Most of the newer mid-level video cards require a minimum of 400W to operate properly.  I like Corsair products.  I normally recommend at least 500W.

 

Here are the system requirements for Battlefield 3.  Both of the recommended video cards (GTX 560 & AMD 6950) require 500W to operate properly.
