When performing a system recovery – does it remove any partitions created?

Model number: HP Pavilion p6795
Operating system: Was Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, now Windows 8 Pro 64-bit

I am looking to perform a system recovery to bring my system back to the factory defaults. I usually partition my drives in particular, D: drive for data to separate it from the operating system and program files.

Could you please confirm it removes any partitions created on the primary hard disk (eg. the D: Data drive)?

Many thanks for your assistance.

Hi

Yes remember the day you purchased the unit it will be taken back to that setting.

Hi

Doing a recovery deletes all the data and takes it back to Factory installed setting.

Let us know how it goes!

Dear Manjunath

Thank you for your quick reply!

Just to confirm, the system recovery includes partitions as well (as they were in the factory?)?

Best regards

Re: When performing a system recovery – does it remove any partitions created?

Hi Manjunath

Thank you for this clarification. It is unfortunate (and quite an inconvenience) that the restore removes the created partitions as well.

I used to be able to have the primary partition for the operating system and a second partition to store data, but good to know before I did this!

Thanks again

Chris
