Will it fit?

Hello,  I bought a HP ENVY 700-215XT from HP recently. I am a PC gamer, so I want to change my graphics card to a gigabyte g1 gtx 970, my most important question, will it fit? Is it compatible?

Hi,

your first concern should be a power supply...the gtx 970 has a minimum suggested power supply of 500w...yours is an OEM 300 w without external power connectors....get a 600 or 650 w psu first

coming to the fitting part, the card is a 10.5 inch...your motherboard is a 9.6*9.6 and so the 970 will cover the full length of your mobo...thats not a problem but if there is a huge mangle of wires in your pc then either tie them up neatly or get a modular psu....bottom line is,it will fit but make sure the insides are not crowded as then the card may heat up too much

Compatibility is dependent on your system bios ....the 970 requires UEFI bios to run and your pc supports it so no worries there

Hope this helps

Hello! Thank you very much for answering! Will a 550 w PSU be enough?

you are very welcome

yeah it will be...make sure its from corsair(best) or antec as psu efficiency decreases with time and with not so well known brands,if the psu malfunctions ,it could take your whole system with it...

Hope this helps
