Will not power up

HP Recommended
HP Pavilion All In One
My hp pavilion all in one will not power on. I have left it unplugged for awhile and then plugged it back in and tried to turn it on but it is still not making any sound or even attempting to turn on. The little light in the back next the power cord is on but that is about it. I've only had this computer for 1 year

Hi @Kneikirk,

Welcome to HP Forums,

this is a great place to get support, find answers and tips,

Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you out 🙂

As I understand you are no longer able to turn on your HP all in one PC. I'll be glad to help you with this,

To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:

Have you made any software or hardware changes on the PC?

Was there any update/reset interrupted, recently?

When you try to turn it on, do you hear the fan running? Or do you get any beeping noises/blinking lights?

In the meantime, let's try these steps here:

Perform a Hard Reset on the PC:

Many startup errors and other problems can be resolved by decreasing the amount of power stored in hardware components. Decreasing stored power is sometimes referred to as a "Hard Reset." Use the following steps to perform a hard reset on a computer:

  1. Turn off the computer completely; disconnect the power cord from the back of the computer.

  2. With the power off and the power cord disconnected, press the power button on the computer for 5 seconds. The power light indicator on or near the power button might turn on briefly but then go out.

  3. Reconnect the power cord and turn on the power.

    • If the computer starts, you are done.

    • If the computer still does not start and exhibits the same problem, continue the troubleshooting.

If the computer does not start, the LED lights do not glow, and the display is black, you can perform one or more of the following actions to resolve the no power issue:
