Windows 7: Avermedia Comsumer Infrared Receiver: device doesn't start

I just upgraded my HP P6116be to Windows 7 using the official HP upgrade assisant DVD and Windows 7 upgrade DVD.

Now the device  "Avermedia Comsumer Infrared Receiver" is no longer working (the remote control doesn't work) and devicemanager shows "code 10 device doesn't start".

Rather annoying.

Anyone a solution yet?

Thanks.

P.S. I hope this is the right sub-forum? If not please let me know, fisrt time I'm here.

Re: Windows 7: Avermedia Comsumer Infrared Receiver: device doesn't start

Try opting to uninstall the

A. IR Transceiver in Device Manager and opt to [  ] Delete the driver software from my computer

B. and the TV Tuner in Device Manager and opt to [  ] Delete the driver software from my computer

Reboot and get the driver from Windows Update.

No change.

The non-working "Avermedia Consumer Infrared Receiver" now is a "unknown device". Bit worse...

Exactly the same problem here with an HPM9690 desktop!

[ Edited ]

If you have this TV Tuner, AVerMedia H789 PCI-E Hybrid DVB-T, and are running Windows 7, make sure you have this driver version loaded

7.102.64.76 (64-bit) or higher

7.102.0.76 (32-bit) or higher

When a driver fails to install, it'll say unknown device.

What is the PNPID of your TV-Tuner?

PCI\VEN_????&DEV_????&SUBYS_????????
