Everything works great in Vista but in Windows 7 No sound card is detected.
I have found and ran an update here in HP's web place called: sp44431 that should fix the sound problem.
When I run it I get a message that says that my system hasn't the minimun demand for this update.
I have a HP Pavilon:
OS Name Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate
Version 6.1.7600 Build 7600
System Manufacturer HP-Pavilion
System Model RR934AA-B1U d4785.se
System Type x64-based PC
Processor AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 5400+, 2800 Mhz, 2 Core(s), 2 Logical Processor(s)
BIOS Version/Date Phoenix Technologies, LTD 5.07, 2007-03-19
SMBIOS Version 2.4
Hardware Abstraction Layer Version = "6.1.7600.16385"
Installed Physical Memory (RAM) 2,00 GB
I'm just asking what is missing and why does'nt it detects the sound card?

That sp44431 file is probably for Windows Vista, not Win 7.
Try the Win 7 driver available from Creative for your Sound Blaster X-Fi audio card: http://support.creative.com/Products/ProductDetails.aspx?catID=1&CatName=sound+blaster&subCatID=208&...
Let us know how it goes.

The drivers for this card is probably on Windows Update. Just scan for updates and install the recommended or optional driver update.

I have a hp laptop and d way i fixed it was by going to the control pannel and then clicking on d uninstall r install icon, u know d programes and features ting. Then i put them in order of (date added) and i scrolled down until very near the bottom i came across a programe called "(something) audio" i cant remem what d exact name was because i changed when i did this. as far as i remem it was sumtin like "coxieal" audio but only spelt sumtin like that. anyway i just clicked on it as if i were going to erase it and then it came up saying do you want to change/uninstall..... i clicked ok and then a message came up at the bottom right of the screen saying "installing drivers" r sumtin lik dat and when it was fin hey presto sound was working grand again.
Hope this helps ye, let me know if it does......
