Windows XP Embedded upgrade

With Microsoft ending support for XP next April, does anyone know if HP is going to offer a license upgrade to Windows 7 Embedded for t5740 thin clients running XP Embedded?

Re: Windows XP Embedded upgrade

Unfortunately, nothing is planned nor currently available from Microsoft in terms of upgrades/migrations.  There was a limited time when WES7 was first released where migration licenses were available, but they were from WES2009 to WES7.

In addition to licensing requirements, you'll also likely need more flash & RAM to support WES7 - the minimum flash size is now 8GB and 2GB RAM.

Re: Windows XP Embedded upgrade

Would have been nice if the t5740e had actually come with an 8gb module instead of the 4gb one. That hurt quite a bit.

We beat down the t510 image to a managable level and have started using that, you have about 500mb of room left on the device, EWF on so the space doesn't change.
