Z400 Workstation
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Hi !!

Trying to find the date of manufacture of a Z400 Workstation - serial number [personal information removed]

Could it be June of 2012 ?

I don't know the HP protocol...

Thanks!

Hi:

Yes, that is correct, June of 2012.

To find the build date of any HP PC by the serial number, you:

Look at the 4th 5th and 6th characters as read left to right.

They should always be numbers.

So, in the specific serial number you posted...

The first '2' corresponds to 2012 (of course it could be 2002 or 1992, but you know that the Z400 wasn't even heard of back then, so 2012 is the only possibility).

The second 2 and the 5 correspond to the calendar week in 2012 when the PC was built.

Your PC was built in the 25th calendar week of 2012 (late June).
