adding external speakers to new pc

Pavilion 27se
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Want to add my previous wired HP speakers to my new Pavilion 27se. I get no sound except a hum. Do I need updated drivers?

Izzy6, welcome to the forum.

When requesting help you should always include the make/model (i.e. p6-xxxx) of the computer and/or monitor.  This information is necessary for us to review the specifications of them.  Also, what is the make/model of the speakers?

Before you reply, you should check in Control Panel / Sound to assure that your speakers are the Default.  This is a problem with Win 10.  Also, run HP and Windows Updates to assure that the software and drivers are up to date.

This post can be ignored. I'm sorry but I just discovered the problem. For some strange reason it seems to be the connector that plugs into the pc...its loose. I will have to see if someone can fix this for me.

You should contact the seller for help.  You shouldn't have to work on a brand new computer.  Please mark your post Accept as Solution.
