Hello lc1500
Welcome to FORUM !!
Why do you like to update BIOS.
Did this PC come preinstalled with WIN 10 or did you upgrade from 8.1 to 10 ?
Hope this helps, for any further queries reply to the post and feel free to join us again !!

Hello lc1500,
Thank you for your reply !!
I appreciate the way you thought about the BIOS update . And yes BIOS update might provide the bug fixes and some added features.
If you ask me. Do I need to update the BIOS on my computer? Probably not,
Just because there is an update for your BIOS does not mean that you should necessarily install it.
It’s a myth that BIOS updates somehow make your computer faster or run better. In some rare instances, a BIOS update can fix a motherboard issue that might make your computer perform better, but it’s usually not related to speed.
For example, a BIOS update may help solve an overheating issue. Also, many BIOS updates are released that simply support new hardware like a new CPU model or graphics card. If you specifically need this new hardware, then it’s probably worth taking the risk to install it. If not, then you should simply stick with your current BIOS because the new BIOS won’t make any difference and could actually cause more problems.
To your question : Upgraded from 8.1 to 10. Would that make a difference?
No not exactly, However there is a BIOS update available for the WIN 8.1 OS and the same not tested for WIN 10.
See here : http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-ENVY-700-Desktop-PC-series/7161708/model/7269347
The only way to update BIOS , you will have to go back to win 8.1, update the to the latest BIOS and then upgrade to win 10 again.
Now unfortunately no BIOS update released for WIN 10 as of now. Will have to wait and see.
