HP Pavilion Slimline

My computer wouldn't boot so I ran a diagnostics test (F9) and this was the results:

CPU test - passed

Harddrive

Connection Test - failed

Error code - BIOHD - 1

Memory Test - passed

Also when I turn my computer on the computer makes this beeping noise. It beeps once, stop, and repeats this.

Hello WalterM-HP,

I understand you recently ran a test and the connection test on your hard drive failed, is that correct? I will be happy to help you.

The first thing I would recommend is to reseat the hard drive, which roughly means remove the SATA cable from it and reinsert it. Of course that would mean you would have to open up your Slimline. If you are able to do that then you can retest again.

Please respond back at your earliest convenience.

Thanks

WalterM-HP,

Was definitely hoping for better results.  I recommend you get the hard drive replaced. Do you know if the computer is still covered by warranty? If you are not sure insert your computer information in this link and it will confirm it.
