Is there anyway I can copy the DV tapes from my can MV790 camcorder DV outlet to my pc? Please note I am not technically minded .

The bottom line is, you will need a video capture device to move your video to your computer.  Here is a video that should help you:

 

 

I believe this is similar to your camera.  At least, it will give you an idea of what is necessary.  Also, here is the manual for your camera.

I have a camcorder but there is no firwire on my pc.Is there a way to install firewire,bear in mind I am not a tech person

Yes, here is a firewire card adapter that will work in your computer.  If you don't want to buy this card it will give you an idea what you need.  Also, here is a diagram of your motherboard:

I have highlighted the slot in yellow that you will use to install this or another brand of card.  As you can see, there are 3 of these slots.  You can actually use any one of them.

 

If you are uncomfortable working on computers, I suggest finding a friend who knows how to install the card.
