how to hook up ps3

i have the hp pavilion elite, ep120y desktop and a hp w2338h screen both have hdmi ports in them, if i plug the hdmi plug into the screen that ps3 works, but if i plug it into the computer than the ps3 does not work. i only ask this because i got to school where i need to run my ps3 through my computer for the ip address so i can use the internet on it, so if anyone has any ideas please let me know. thank you

Usually you can plug in a vga and dvi or vga and hdmi and both should display video just fine but you need to switch video modes on your monitor.


So on your lcd there should be a buttons that says Mode or Input and u view your pc or play on your ps3.


I do the same with my lcd.


It's hooked up to the pc via dvi and to the 360 via vga. I just switch video modes.
