Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Good day, I have an HP AIO model: 23-q110.

It's not powering on, the ac adapter has a hissing sound once its connected to the machine.

I've tried another Power adapter but I'm getting the same problem. However if i use the power adapter on another machine the adapter works fine. But as soon as i plug in the adapter into the AIO it starts making a hissing sound. please help.

Thank you for joining HP Forums.

I'll be glad to help you 🙂

As I understand the HP AIO adapter isn't powering on and a hissing sound appears when connecting any adapter to the AIO,

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

Have you updated the BIOS on your HP AIO?

Did you attempt a hard reset to remove the excessive static from the PC?

While you respond to that, here's what you need to do:

Many errors and other problems can be resolved by decreasing the amount of power stored in hardware components.

Decreasing stored power is sometimes referred to as a "Hard Reset". Use the following steps to perform a hard reset on a computer:

  1. If Windows is open, click Start and then Shutdown.

If Windows is not open and the computer has power, press and hold the power button on the computer until the computer shuts off.

  2. With the power off, disconnect the power cord from the back of the computer.

  3. With the power off and the power cord disconnected, press the power button on the computer for 5 seconds. The power light indicator on or near the power button might turn on briefly but then go out.

  4. Reconnect the power cord and turn on the power.

If I have helped you resolve the issue, feel free to give me a virtual high-five by clicking the 'Thumbs Up' icon below,

Followed by clicking on "Accept as solution" from the drop-down menu on the upper right corner,

Thank you for posting in the HP Support Forum.  Have a great day!
