Hi @ilham93,

Allow me to welcome you to the HP community. A very good day to you. 🙂 I understand that you require assistance regarding the computer not booting to windows and instead goes to a black screen. It will be a delight to assist you here.

Fabulous description and very smart analysis of the issue was done before posting. Kudos to you for that. 🙂 You are a valued HP customer and I take it as a privilege to share this platform with you. 🙂

For better clarity and to assist you better I would require more information regarding this:

  • Did it happen after a software or windows update?
  • Do you remember?
  • Did it occur after a power outage or power surge?
  • Are there any lights on the computer like the power button?
  • Do you hear the fan spin?
  • Please let me know the complete model# of the computer.

We first need to isolate the issue to being hardware or software related.

For a start please, try the hard reset again from this link: http://support.hp.com/za-en/document/c01463028

then power on the computer and check if it loads the desktop. If it does not, please try to follow all the prescribed steps relevant to your current problem from this link: http://support.hp.com/us-en/product/HP-Pavilion-23-All-in-One-Desktop-PC-series/5330748/model/536265...  and check again.

If it goes to the bios or brings up a display before windows loads, you could run complete system diagnostics on the computer to check if the hardware is fully functional from this link: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01443317 and make a note on any failure code that gets displayed for a failed component. Please follow the option “Testing using HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI” and perform the extensive tests it takes 2 hours to run.

If it passes, you could perform a system restore to an earlier time before the issue started from this link: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01835735 and follow the option Using System Restore when Windows 7 cannot start normally”

This should do the trick for you. Please perform all these steps patiently till the issue is fixed.

Please keep me posted. I will keep a watch for your reply. 🙂

Hope this helps.  Let me know how this goes. I genuinely hope the issue gets resolved without hassles and the unit works great. 🙂  Please reach out for any issues and I'll be there to assist you. 🙂

To simply say thanksplease click the "Thumbs Up" button to give me a Kudos to appreciate my efforts to help.

If this helps, please mark this as “Accepted Solution” as it will help several others with the same issue to get it resolved without hassles. 🙂

Take care now and have a splendid week ahead. 🙂
