Hey there, Welcome to HP Forum. The unit goes with the standard GPU slot universally. The card you have want to install is compatible. The power supply should also be sufficient unless you want to upgrade other internal components requiring more power.

Please verify unit p7-1067cb, all I could find is p7-1067c, and if so, it is not compatible, as your unit was manufactured 2011. Is the Product number QN648AA  (found on the tag).

I find references dated 2011 p7-1067cbPC desktops 2011   and these are bothersome.

Type "msinfo" in the search box window" and look for the BIOS entry.  Pre-fall 2012 should be LEGACY, and that means a non UEFI vBIOS computer.  As the GTX series past the 670 were known to require a graphic card compliant with UEFI, I am worried.

Thanks for the information. I am able to share the complete specs of your PC http://hp.care/2bGmxwC. Like I mentioned, I f you can find a compatible uprated power supply, your upgrade should be successful.

The p7-1067c was originally shipped as WIN 7.

Did you type in the msinfo into the search box?  If it's LEGACY, do not get the GTX 970.

The only BIOS for the p7-1067c is rev 7.16, and that is not compliant with UEFI.

If you do not report back the BIOS, I wish you well, and good luck.

Yes its legacy, therefore getting the GTX is a NO?

I should build a new PC then, can I use my old i5 processor in the latest MOBO that's out right now together with th gtx 970?

Now that it's been determined that the GTX 970 will not work, can I actually know the reason for the upgrade? Maybe I can suggest a solution.  In all cases, I would not take an I-5 anywhere.
