Greetings,

You have two possible issues which are causing factory recovery problems:

1. Advanced Format HDD

2. A different graphics card

1. Your model number was introduced by HP in 2008. The newer HDD's throw the recovery discs into a frenzy. You may have to find a HDD that is not AF. Your system configuration shows two 500 GB HDD's were installed at the factory. Finding non AF HDD's may be a big problem.

You do have Vista SP1. So the possible HDD issue could be the size of the HDD you installed in your PC. Do you still have two 500 GB HDD's installed in your PC?

This HP PDF may help you.

2. Pull the new graphics card. Use the integrated graphics when performing the recovery. A different graphics card will kill a successful recovery.

One other option is to purchase Windows Vista SP1. Do a clean install.

Then install the HP drivers and software from here.

Jay
