I am having the same problem on my HP P6240f desktop. After having the computer for over a year and a half, recently the fans run fast and loud for extended periods of time every few minutes. The sounds goes up and down from vitually silent to fast and loud every few mintures. The computer was always extrememly quiet up until now. I've opened the computer up and cleaned any dust that collected but it still runs loud. Even when I am not running heavy programs the fan runs loud. For instance the fan just kicked in and according to Windows task manager the CPU usage is at 30% and memory at 2.39 GB of a total 8 GB.
Any help you could provide would be very appreciated!
