my hp pavillion pc wont turn on even though the green led light is on inside the cabinet

after attempting to charge my "halo"external lithium ion battery in the usb hub on my hp pavillion, my computer shut off suddenly. I'm not certain weather I inadvertantly fried my system but althought the green light will remain on inside the cabinet the unit itself will not even turn on when i press the power button. can anyone tell me if ive killed my computer or not!???

In order to assist you, certain requirements are necesssary.  What is the make, model # or product #, and current OS.

Unless specified as a charger port (limited models), the current of any USB2.0 port is 500ma.
