no sound pavillion

Pavillion 6627
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

The sound on my brother's Pavillion p6627cb suddenly stopped.

It is a pretty old desktop.

He has no internet where he lives now. Could I buy a driver somewhere on a CD and install it?  Is that a way to go?

Other than checking the audio level which is at max, are there other tweeks we can try?

Hi there @chait,

I hope you find your Support Forum experience a positive one! It is a great place to find the help you need, from other users, HP experts and other support personnel. I understand that you are looking for drivers for your brother's computer. I am happy to help with this.

You can find drivers from the software and download page here: HP Pavilion p6627c Desktop PC.  Also you can also pass on the steps in this: HP Desktop PCs - No Sound from the Speakers or Headphones (Windows 7)

Please let me know whether that works for you, and if it does resolve your issue, please mark this post as a solution. Kudos would also be appreciated.
