pci simple communications controller unknown device and wired internet not working.

compaq dc5800
Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit)

Hello.

I just reinstalled windows 7 32 bit on my compaq dc5800 and in the device manager said the pci simple communications controller needs a driver. This is the id code:

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_29D4&SUBSYS_281E103C&REV_02
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_29D4&SUBSYS_281E103C
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_29D4&CC_078000
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_29D4&CC_0780

Wired internet via ethernet is also not working, I updated the intel 82566dm-2 drivers but that did not work.

Hi:

You need this driver for the PCI Simple Comms Controller...

For the ethernet, the only suggestion I can offer would be to try the driver directly from Intel.

The first driver on the list is for 32 bit.

You're very welcome.

Unfortunately, I have no experience troubleshooting network connection issues.
