restoring windows 7 on SSD
03-18-2013 12:44 PM
Hi there,
Basically I've bought a sandisk SSD and tried too install windows through the HP recovery manager (burnt to disk). I have gone through the process of reformatting and copying files bit after the restart it just comes up with no bootable device (it wont find the files on the ssd to continue startup)?
Any advice would be great. Thanks

restoring windows 7 on SSD

Hi,
The SSD is too small to allow the HP recovery program to fully complete the recovery process.
You try using a hard drive imaging product that will resize the partitions but don't expect the HP recovery process using the hard drive process to work after you have imaged across the HD to the SSD.
Be sure to make a set of the HP Recovery Disks.
I have seen your issue happen multiple times on this forum.
