Can I upgrade to windows 10?  Are there any issues I should know???

Please refer to this Nvidia Support document.

 

The integrated graphics and the chipset on your motherboard will not play nice with Windows 10. You could buy a compatible discrete graphics card to side step this problem. But you will encounter other legacy components (the chipset) installed on this motherboard that are incompatible with Windows 10.

 

Your PC is around nine years old. Older hardware may cause problems if there is no driver support for Windows 10 provided by the device manufacturer.

 

You would also have to buy Windows 10 because you are upgrading from Vista to 10. You can still upgrade to Windows 10 free if you have special requirements (Assistive Technologies). But the free upgrade does not apply to Vista.

Yes.

 

Because your PC is almost ten years old, the disk-drive probably is about the same age.

The warranty on the disk-drive probably was just 1 or 2 years.

[To compare, do you drive your automobile on ten-year-old tires?]

 

So, for "peace-of-mind", you should buy a new disk-drive: $60 to $100 US.

Then, you need to buy a license to use Windows 10: over $100 US.

Subtotal: up to $200 US, but the rest of the computer still is about 10 years old.

Sigh.

 

Instead, see   www.BestBuy.com   and search for "refurbished desktop computer".

For well under $200 US, you can buy a "refurbished" computer, with a new-ish disk-drive, and a license for Windows 10.

Also, the computer will be faster than your current computer (more RAM, faster CPU).

 

My recommendation: remove the disk-drive from the current computer, buy a replacement computer, and temporarily attach the disk-drive as a "secondary" disk-drive on the new computer, to copy all your personal files.
