when I select my HP 4500 printer, I have lost the "scan" button in the tab at the top

HP Office Jet 4500
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

When I select " Devices and Printers" in the Start column on my PC, then highlight my HP Office Jet Icon, I have lost the "Scan" selection in the highlightted tab in the select tabs at the top of the screen.

Is there a way to restore the "Scan" selection tab in the highlighted tabs at the top of the device icon list?

Hi @FRED3157,

Welcome to HP Forums, this is a great place to get support, find answers and tips.

Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you.

I understand that the scan button is not available on the tabs on the printer software screen.

This issue could occur if the full feature software is not installed.

Let's go through a few steps to troubleshoot this issue.

And here's the step by step guide for you in the links to uninstall and reinstall the software:

1. Uninstalling the Printer Software (Windows)

2. Full Feature Software and Driver

You may also check the link on how to scan: How to Scan from the Computer (Windows)

Let me know how this works.

You have a good day ahead.
