Re: Elite x3 reboots by its own, and sometimes freezes

Jbils and Ron, I suggest if you haven't already, use the windows recovery tool regardless of whether or not you have a new device. Get a fresh install on the phone via the recovery tool and then do not activate the pros or fingerprint lock. I have been successful with using my phone in this fashion. Also, I have 2 sim cards instead of sim and sd card.

Re: Elite x3 reboots by its own, and sometimes freezes

Thanks mhaddad87. i have had to do this more than 10 times already. i recently went in to the MS store and they told me they would do it also - they said it was different if they reset it. this was done on thursday of last week. it was fine for about 2 hours and then went back to brick.

i have not tried the other suggestion of the fingerprint scanner etc.

thank you!!!!!!!

How are you syncing pc text?? Microsoft discontinued messaged support for pc. Could be part of your issue?

Re: Elite x3 reboots by its own, and sometimes freezes

I've now been 1 month without a freeze.  Here's what I've done and not done.

  1. Used the Windows Mobile Device tool to totally reset my device.
  2. I've NOT configured Iris or Fingerprint scanning or Hello at all.
  3. I let the battery run down to 20-25% before charging - this normally takes 2 days for me - but it's running well.

I have only one SIM card in it right now - but next week while on vacation will be installing a 2nd SIM card as well.  (taking a spare Dual SIM phone just in case this fails).

Currently running

V 1607

Build 10.0.14393.693

Formware 2.0.26.118

Re: Elite x3 reboots by its own, and sometimes freezes

Hi all,

A recent firmware version was release (v02.0.26.118).  There were a number of improvements to stability.  My suggestion is to use the Windows Device Recovery tool (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/12379/windows-10-mobile-device-recovery-tool-faq) to install a fresh image onto your device.

Please let us know if this works!

Re: Elite x3 reboots by its own, and sometimes freezes

hi chris,

thanks for the suggestion. i have tried this without any change at all.

is there something i can do? this is unusable in its current condition.

i have had to reset the device 15-20 times already today. basically after any text comes through it freezes and then crashes or turns itself off.

help!

Re: Elite x3 reboots by its own, and sometimes freezes

All,

Been three days since I received the new SIM tray, so, figured I would report.

A ton better.  It was freezing 30-40 times a day at the most inopportune moments.  However, it is still freezing.  Now, about three times a day.  So, not while I am using it, just when it is sitting idle.  Every time I plug it in - Dock or cable - it will freeze within about 10 minutes.

I have firmware version 0002.0000.0026.0118.  I am assuming that is the same version you posted?
