I have had this monitor for a while now but all of a suddent my monitor intermittenly loses video signal. The only wat to get my video signal back is to power off and power on the monitor. However My other monitor which when connection to the laptop does not lose any vide signal

I understand that you have video issues with your monitor

It could be an electrical cross talk from a power supply or speakers. It can also be if you're using DVI or VGA a bent pin or broken pin on video cable or a bad video or lose cable. A bad PC video card. Test the monitor on another PC see if the issue follows. If you think it the GPU in the PC pull it and uses onboard video see if the issue comes back. The last issue could be a failing power supply. Or it could be a hardware issue please contact HP phone support using the link below.

I used a different monitor on the same VGA port and also connected a different computer with the same monitor and I noticed the same issue. Is there any other way to fix the hp monitor?

This could be a hardware problem so please contact HP phone support and get the service options for your monitor.
