Hello, I recently bought this Mixed Reality headset on Amazon and received a frayed cable (looks like it was pulled on one end, where it meets the headset connector), which as a result doesn't work and Windows keeps telling me the connected device cannot be recognized. I already searched for the part number and it seems to be 940814-001, does the warranty cover this? I would need a new cable. Thanks in advance.

That is the part number for the cable, but this forum doesnt speak for HP Support. You would have to contact HP directly for warranty information. Contact HP Worldwide | HP® Official Site 

 

Otherwise, if a third person seller sold the item through Amazon, they will most likely have to  refund you the purchase. They may have misrepresented the item if they didnt disclose physical damage. You will have to contact Amazon about that.
