Product: HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop 15-ec0xxx
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I want to buy a new graphics card for my laptop but I'm not sure if its even going to work. I'm confused about all of the factors and would really appreciate someone helping me figure this out, thanks!

No, you can't swap out, it is soldered to the system board. It uses MXM format and you won't be able to buy normally from retails.

 

The ONLY thing you can do: swap out the whole System board and buy a better one (IF AVAILABLE) .
