HP reverb g2
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

After going through 3 days of troubleshooting, verifying compatibility and minimum requirements, driver installs, workarounds, etc. It has come to my attention that it is quite common of the hp reverb G2 to arrive with a non-funcional cable (example of problem:  both monitors turn on with proper display, then turn off while still tracking through desk top view, occasionally having the picture return only to flicker to black. While maintaining tracking on the PC with audio clipping). To make matters worse the unit that we ordered from the hp website has serial numbers that do not register in the warranty process. My girlfriend and I have the proof of purchase, so I was wondering how to go about getting one of the revised cables sent to me to remedy this issue? Thank you for the help if you can offer it, we were beyond excited to try this unit out, but sadly it has somewhat spoiled our experience and trust with HP.

HI@John480, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Reverb G2 to support the notebook needs to checked taking remote access so that get to know it's a hardware or software issue.

I'd suggest you contact HP in your region regarding the service options for your computer or HP Chat Support Team.

Keep me posted. Happy to help!

My issue isn't pertaining to a PC, it has to do with a VR headset ( the HP Reverb g2 non-omnicept edition) and the cable that it came with. To make things worse I cant even open up a Support Case on the website due to the fact that the serial number( the one located next to the left eye piece on the information panel) is non-functional, meaning that it doesn't register on the support page and I cant even get to a contact page , let alone chat with an agent about our issue. We ordered the unit from the hp site, with proof of purchase and all relevant documentation. How do I get in contact with an agent at HP to remedy this issue?

That is the most useless support agent reply...unless it's a bot. I'm in Ireland, HP are based here for Europe, and I can't get through to customer support.  The HP website is broken if trying to contact HP support,  so we are left in limbo trying to get a cable to fix a well known problem.

look through the HP website and see if u can find the register device page. enter the serial number when u register it and then it should let u get into the support page using the serial number. Use the number inside the HMD not the one on the cable as they r diff. the box might not have it on at all or have a diff one like mine has.

Had the same prob not recoginizing the serial number till i registered it with HP. It will also tell u how much warrenty u have left on it. that date could be wrong as i bought mine 8th Aug but warrenty says it started in april. so lost 4 months warrenty.

If u bought it from amazon it might not even be a real HP product as most of the stuff amazon sell is knock offs.  Ive bought stuff from ebay and its come in amazon packaging and they were fake products.
