Hello,
HP doesn't seem to have (or I can't find) a board that is related to laptop accessories, or the USB-C Docks specifically, so I am posting this here. Please let me know if there is a more appropriate board to post this too.
I work in a place that utilizes dozens of HP USB-C Docks. Over the past few months, there has been a constant flow of them into our IT area for them not working properly. The USB ports work fine; people can use mice and keyboards perfectly fine. However, the video outputs stop working. It doesn't seem to matter if it's the HDMI or the Displayport; neither output will work. The sleep button works fine too.
I have found myself swapping out several of them a week recently. The devices are out of warranty (a lot of them on by a month or so). I can't in good conscience advise my superiors to keep shelling out money for these devices when they break just as quickly as a dongle that costs 1/10th the price of them, and does the same job.
I am putting these question here in hopes that someone from HP sees it and can help.
What can I do to fix these? What is HP doing to make sure this doesn't keep happening?
Thanks,
Dane
