Headset mic not being detected

HP Recommended
HP ENVY Phoenix Desktop - 860-019 (ENERGY STAR)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My headset is not being detected as a mic. it is being detected only as an audio source. I have it plugged into the headset jack on the top of the computer. I've looked online for a solution, but can't find a viable one.

Please help me!

@Wolvesry

The specs of your machine is

   https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c04799759

It does NOT have headsets (headphone/microphone combo) jack. You have to use microphone jack at the top or at its back. I can't find an adapter to split another way only from different way

             https://www.amazon.com.au/s?k=headset+adapter&hvadid=268029388247&hvdev=c&hvlocphy=9071270&hvnetw=g&...

Therefore you have to use a microphone.

Regards.
