Hp 25X monitor
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The freesynce option does not show on the actual monitor. When I select gaming it doesn’t say anything more than that. In the AMD software freesync is enabled but I can’t seem to enable it on the actual monitor. Any help would be appreciated.

@Margie88 Welcome to HP Community!

I looked up the monitor specifications and it looks like the recommended resolution and support is: 1920 x 1080 at 60 Hz (FHD)

NOTE:

Full high-definition (FHD) content required to view FHD images.

And that's probably why the monitor is defaulting to 60hz, when you attempt to use a higher frequency.

Also, you may need to know about this as well:

AMD FreeSync technology is designed to eliminate stuttering and tearing in games and videos by locking a display’s refresh rate to the frame rate of the graphics card.

Check with the manufacturer of your component or system for specific capabilities.

IMPORTANT: AMD Radeon Graphics and/or AMD A-Series APU-compliant displays with DisplayPort/HDMI Adaptive-Sync required. AMD 15.11 Crimson driver (or newer) required to support FreeSync over HDMI. NOTE: Adaptive refresh rates vary by display. More information is available at www.amd.com/freesync.

I hope that answers your query,
