Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing to report an issue with the HP GK320 keyboard that I purchased on August 10, 2024. I am experiencing problems with several keys, including ctrl, shift, and 's', which are intermittently unresponsive or have ceased to function entirely.

I am seeking assistance with this matter.

@vedantkaran, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

If you are experiencing problems with your HP GK320 keyboard where keys like ctrl, shift, and 's' are intermittently unresponsive or have ceased to function entirely, you can try the following steps to troubleshoot the issue:

Check the Keyboard Connection

  • Ensure that the keyboard is properly connected to your computer. If it's a wired keyboard, make sure the USB connection is secure. If it's wireless, check the battery and ensure its paired correctly.

Test the Keyboard on Another Computer

  • Connect the keyboard to another computer to see if the issues persist. If the keyboard works fine on another computer, the problem may be with your original computer's settings or ports.

Update or Reinstall Keyboard Drivers

  1. Press the Windows key + X and select Device Manager.
  2. Find keyboards and expand the list.
  3. Right-click on your keyboard device and select Update driver or Uninstall device. Then restart your computer and reconnect the keyboard to reinstall drivers.

Check for Physical Damage

  • Inspect the keyboard for any visible signs of physical damage, such as debris under the keys or wear and tear. Clean the keyboard carefully to remove any dirt or debris.

Use Windows built-in troubleshooting tool:

  1. Press the Windows key + I to open Settings.
  2. Navigate to Update & Security > Troubleshoot.
  3. Select Keyboard and run the troubleshooter.

Reset Keyboard Settings in BIOS

  • Sometimes, changing settings in BIOS related to the keyboard can resolve the issue. Enter BIOS mode and ensure all settings related to USB ports and keyboard functionality are correctly configured.
