Hi @MC258,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP X27q QHD gaming monitor keeps switching from "Night" color mode back to "Gaming" mode, there are a few potential reasons and solutions you can try.

  • Automatic Color Mode Switching: Some monitors have a feature that automatically adjusts the color mode based on the content being displayed or ambient lighting conditions. Check if your monitor has such a feature and disable it if necessary. Look in the monitor's settings menu for options related to color modes or automatic adjustments.
  • Monitor Settings: Access the monitor's on-screen display (OSD) menu and navigate to the color settings. Ensure that you select the "Night" color mode and apply the changes. Some monitors allow you to set a default color mode, so make sure "Night" is selected as the default.
  • Monitor Software: Some monitors come with software that allows you to control various settings, including color modes, from your computer. Check if there is any monitor software installed on your computer, and use it to set the color mode to "Night" and save the settings.
  • Graphics Driver: Ensure that your graphics driver is up to date. An outdated or incompatible graphics driver can sometimes interfere with monitor settings. Visit the manufacturer's website to download and install the latest graphics driver for your graphics card.
  • Operating System Settings: Sometimes, your operating system can override monitor settings. Check your computer's display settings and ensure that it's not set to a different color profile or mode that is conflicting with the monitor's settings.
  • Power Saving Settings: Some power-saving features can affect the monitor's settings. Make sure that your computer's power settings are not causing the monitor to revert to a default setting. Disable any power-saving modes that might be affecting the monitor.
  • Factory Reset: If none of the above solutions work, you can perform a factory reset on the monitor. This will revert all settings back to their default values. Refer to your monitor's user manual for instructions on how to perform a factory reset.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
