OMEN 27I
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I recently purchase an Omen 27i Monitor and there is an issue with the external lighting.

It worked fine for a few hours but now the external lighting is not working at all.

I tried factory reset many times and nothing happens....I am very disappointed as I really thought it would work just fine...it being an HP Omen Gaming product and especially because I paid so much for it.

If anybody has a solution to this issue please let me know, or maybe the HP Help Team can give me some advice if I can do anything to fix this...or just learn a lesson and never buy HP Omen products ever again.

P.S: I found a temp solution by constantly removing and putting back the power cable...till the lights turn back on.

Hi @Mike_Praj,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

As this is a hardware issue, I'd suggest you Contact HP in your region regarding the service options for your computer.

If you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty. If yes? please send me a private message with the region you are contacting us from. Check next to your profile Name, you should see a little blue envelope, please click on it.

Have a great day!

You jumped the gun and provide a standard, subpar and unhelpful solution.

I'm well aware that a product can be returned or serviced... I was looking for a more customer-centred help; no customer focus whatsoever...

As it happens, it's a firmware bug rather than a hardware one.

Will just mention it to help the community - pass it along please, after analysis. If the Power Recall function is disabled/off the external lighting doesn't come back on after the screen exits stand-by.

Factory reset doesn't fix the problem, removing and reconnecting the power cable will.

Have a nice day!

Has there been a firmware update for this model as I've literally just bought this and within 24 hrs of owning the monitor I'm having this problem
