Omen X by HP Mindframe Headset
Microsoft Windows 11

I recently got a secondhand Omen Mindframe headset . When I first plugged it in my pc, it worked perfectly fine. After testing a few things, I installed the drivers from the Omen Gaming Hub. Ever since that, whenever I try to play a video it lags and has like a crackling noise.

Looking this up, I found I might need to update my drivers, so I try to find the drivers in the HP support website, but it says "There is no software or drivers available for your product." I can't seem to find the drivers anywhere else.

I tried the headset on another pc and they worked fine, but when I tried to update the drivers (device manager), it happened again. Luckily, I was able to roll back the drivers. I tried rolling back the drivers on my main pc, but it didn't work.

Just wondering if there was any reason for the drivers to not be on the website, and whether if I could get them anywhere else. Thanks in advance.

Hi @clauwong,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It's unfortunate that you're experiencing issues with your Omen X by HP Mindframe headset. Driver-related problems can indeed cause audio disturbances like lag and crackling noises. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and hopefully resolve the issue.

  • Roll Back Drivers: Since rolling back the drivers on your main PC did not work, you may want to try reinstalling the drivers completely.
  • Uninstall and Reinstall Drivers: a. Open Device Manager. b. Locate your Omen X headset under "Audio inputs and outputs." c. Right-click and select "Uninstall device." d. Disconnect the headset. e. Restart your computer. f. Reconnect the headset, and let Windows reinstall the drivers automatically.
  • Check Windows Update: Ensure that your Windows operating system is up to date. Sometimes, Windows Update includes driver updates.
  • Use Generic USB Audio Drivers: If you encounter issues with the specific drivers provided by HP, you can try using the generic USB audio drivers that come with Windows. Uninstall the HP drivers, and let Windows install its default drivers.
  • Check for Firmware Updates: In addition to drivers, check if there are any firmware updates available for your Omen X headset. Firmware updates can sometimes address compatibility and performance issues.
  • Reinstall Omen Gaming Hub: Uninstall the Omen Gaming Hub and reinstall it. Sometimes, issues can arise from corrupted installations.
  • Try Different USB Ports: Plug your headset into different USB ports on your main PC to rule out any potential issues with a specific USB port.
  • Windows System Restore: If the issue started after installing the Omen Gaming Hub, you might consider using Windows System Restore to revert your system to a point before the installation.
  • Check for Third-Party Software Conflicts: Ensure that no third-party applications or services are conflicting with your headset. Disable unnecessary startup programs and background applications to see if the issue persists.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
