Phone Charger not detected

Product Name: Pavilion 15-bk020wm
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I plugged in a phone charger into my usb port into my laptop to connect my xbox one controller to it.  It worked fine, then when i went to go plug it into my laptop for about the 3rd time it would say unreconzied usb, so i unpluged it and plugged it back in and gave me the same message, so i plug it into a different port and still gave the message, i rebooted my pc to find it wouldnt even detect it at all. Then i ended up here. I also have a wirless mouse that it detects fine. I tried usin different phone chargers but none worked.

Re: Phone Charger not detected

Hey there! @scp900, Welcome to HP forums.

I understand you have USB port issues with your laptop.

Don't worry I will try to help you out.

Did you make any software or hardware changes on your PC?

Have you tried connecting to different USB ports?

Have you tried checking with a different USB cable?

Please try the steps recommended below.

Change the USB Selective Suspend Settings

Follow these steps:

1. In Power Options, click on Show additional plans. (If you tried Method 2, you must know how to go to Power Options.

2. Click Change settings that are currently unavailable.

3. Select High performance and click on Change plan settings.

4.  Click on Change advanced power settings.

5. Click on Change settings that are currently unavailable.

6. Locate USB settings and expand it.

7. Expand USB selective suspend setting. Disable both On battery and Plugged in settings.

8. Click Apply button and restart your computer.

Please update the BIOS and intel chipset driver on your PC and check if it helps.

Link to update BIOS.

Also, update chipset driver using this link.

Let me know if this works!

Have a pleasant day ahead! Smiley Happy
