I have the dreaded error 4-1 problem with X570 Mobo
- USB drivers reinstallation - no results
- PCI-E Gen 3 switch - no results
- VR Headset replacement - no results
- Awaiting cable replacement - HP shipped me the new headset, but without a new cable. The headset is still under guarantee, so fingers crossed the new cable fixes the issue.
The curious thing is that the headset has been working fine since November last year, and decided to go all bonkers on me this week, after a week of break in flight simming. Bummer 😞
Earlier on I had a similar problem, but switching the cable from the MOBO to the GPU USB-c output has resolved the issue. Now - I do not know what to do. The headset stopped working when plugged into the RX6900XT's USB-C port.. The MOBO ports do not seem to recognize it at all.
Also, major thanks shall go to HP support in the UK - you guys have gone to great lengths to fix my problems.
The PC is
MSI X570 MPG Gaming MOBO
Ryzen 5900
MSI RX 6900 XT
32 gigs of G.SKILL 3600 Mhz ram
My GPU drivers are up to date. My BIOS is up to date.
Interestingly, the headset headphones work perfectly well.

For those with similar issues - Contact (call) HP Business Support and request the replacement of your current cable to the latest revision of cable (under warranty)
Explicitly ask for:
Part Number: M52188-001
Part Description: SPS-CA ACTIVE 6M BLACK /W SWITCH
This is larger and has a power switch, and 'should' resolve your issue 🙂
Photo of both cables (larger one being the newer revision of cable)
