Took delivery of a G2 on the 16th from Amazon. Followed the setup instructions to the letter and as I plugged in the powerbrick, the headset and portal came to life. Impressive stuff and a very nice headset.
So today, 19th I decided to get some Microsoft flighsim time in. Plugged in the headset then powered it up and.... nothing.
SteamVr states there is no headset connected. The mixed reality client gives me error 7-14 and windows no longer recognizes the device. I've tried every usb port, including both usb-c ports and nothing. The only device that gets recognized on the headset are the cameras.
Device manager shows a connected device which could not be recognised (with error 43).
Strange that the port that it work on previously was ok. Left it for a few days and it no longer works.
So, is this a cable issue or could the headset be dead?
Update.
So looking at it, my motherboard is a Crosshair Hero VII (Wifi) and its the X570 chipset, which is the same chipset everyone else who has issues, is running. My headset actually worked on one usb then stopped working. All of them fail, including the Type C on the rear and the three on the case. All connections result in a "Device not recognised" error message. Pretty poor to be honest and I'm assuming it'll be a firmware issue. Until then I'm returning the headset and waiting to see what happens.
