Further to the thread link below;

Reverb G2 suddenly not detected anymore - HP Support Community - 7959780

Seems like that thread is locked hence me resurrecting.  Has anyone who's had this problem managed to fix it?

As per original thread, my system was working fine. I use  Reverb G2 mostly for DCS World (standalone version and via Steam).  All worked fine one day then next WMR telling me to plug in my headset..it hadn't move since working the day before.  All Microsoft and HP suggested fixes attempted, still not working.

Device manager recognises the headset says its working properly but gives message:

"Device Error : 0x80040203 : E_DEVICE_USB_SPEED_TOO_SLOW"

Delved further, uninstalled USB roots/hubs etc and reinstalled.  All drivers up to date...still not working

Almost certain its a PC hardware thing.  USB C connections = no light on power block for headset.  USB 3 ports, = light on power block, but only 1 of 5 USB 3 ports on PC gets WMR to boot.  It then fails initial compatibility check as port identified as to slow

Anyone who has any success sorting this, please get in touch.

New Cable from HP fixed this problem for me.

Seen a number of posts where HP support has taken a bit of a bashing.  Got to say my experience was all positive.

Spoke with Omar in tech support, he advised on some further tests etc which I did and sent through photos of headset USB connections etc and error message.  He confirmed he thought a new cable was needed and it was sent out in a couple of days.

Many thanks for help  support team.  Thought folks should know when you get things right as well as when they don't run so smoothly.

@Kgb035 if you don't mind me asking, how long did it take for you to receive your new cable from the date they told you they would send one? I'm experiencing this issue now but got some garbage email about the part being out of stock due to extraordinary circumstances.

They don't seem so extraordinary to me.. Either HP had a bunch of lemon parts, or they chose to chase the money by using all parts for new units and not keep any around for breakage...

Took about a week from first contact to receive the cable. Not too bad.

Hi@kgb035, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Request you to follow the below troubleshooting

Install and update the latest BIOS & video card drivers, once done, use the below steps:

  1. Open the controller's battery cover.

  2. Press and hold the pairing button. It is located below the batteries.

  3. Press and hold the Windows button for five seconds.

  4. Release both buttons simultaneously. The process of resetting should take about 15 seconds.

  5. Pair your motion controllers with your PC.

Once done, try the below steps:

  1. Open the Mixed Reality Portal app on your PC.

  2. In the side, menu click on to see more.

  3. Select set up controllers.

  4. In the settings screen, you now see, click add Bluetooth or other devices.

  5. Open the battery door on your controllers.

  6. Press the small button below the batteries for 2 seconds until the lights flash.

  7. When the controllers appear in the list, click connect.

Now, put on your headset and make sure that they're working and tracking OK. If you don't see them as in the image above, hold down the Windows button for two seconds until it vibrates to turn them off.

Then repeat the process to turn them back on again and this should make them both appear in front of you.

Once the controllers have paired over Bluetooth the lights on the ring will stop flashing and instead stay bright and steady.

Reverb G2 to support the notebook needs to be checked by taking remote access so that get to know it's a hardware or software issue.

I'd suggest you contact HP in your region regarding the service options for your computer or HP Chat Support Team.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
